Ancestral     2014

The Ancestral series deviates from the exploration of the  ‘mise en scène’ narratives of my previous photographs.  Ancestral depicts a woman, a place, and a symbolic dress as in the previous series but the narrative now is real.  

This remote Gaspésie location of desolate rock, historic homestead and a family bible combines to define a relationship between the woman and her great-grandmother to solidify the ties to her ancestral home.
